Shifting to a Remote Law Practice in Response to COVID-19

The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has had and will continue to have serious impacts on the legal system and the practice of law. From solo practitioners to Big Law partners, attorneys have found themselves having to move their law practices online to be able to work from home.

This program will review the impact COVID-19 has had on law practices and what foreseeable impact it will have in the coming months; how lawyers can adapt to working from home and in “distributed” law firms; and what systems and technologies lawyers can employ to move their law practices fully online with no physical office.

Presented by Oscar Michelen and Scott Limmer, this program will benefit solo and small firm lawyers whose practices have been impacted by COVID-19 and need to find a way to be able to operate through the crisis.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify the impact the COVID-19 virus has had and will have on the practice of law
2. Move your law practice out of a physical office and into cyberspace
3. Discuss the systems and technology that will help lawyers survive without a physical law office
4. Grow and maintain business while the COVID-19 virus is still impacting daily routines

Produced on March 27, 2020.
