Navigating Family and Matrimonial Issues During the COVID-19 Pandemic: What Happens When Courts Aren't Available?

As if Matrimonial and Family Law wasn’t already rife with tension, the unprecedented circumstances relating to COVID-19 are exacerbating those conditions. This webinar, presented by Kelly Frawley and Emily Pollock of Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, will discuss briefly the common custodial and financial issues that have arisen while we are sheltering in place, ways to handle them if Courts are not available to resolve them, and what constitutes an emergency if the Court does choose to accept certain applications.

Learning Objectives:
1. Examine what issues have emerged most often during the pandemic as a result of sheltering in place
2. Explore potential methods for handling these issues when courts are not available
3. Discuss the definition of "emergency" in these unusual circumstances
