Rapid and unprecedented changes have been unfolding over the past few weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic - multiple international travel bans and the need for social distancing. All immigration-related agencies including the Department of State, USCIS, ICE, CBP, EOIR, and DOL have been impacted. These agencies have been making accommodations and issuing notices on a daily basis, creating havoc for travelers, immigration attorneys, and their clients.
This course, led by Matthew Blaisdell, Valentine Brown, and Christian Park will provide an update on the latest information from these agencies on the travel bans and their exceptions, immigration practice, filing of applications, court appearances and court filings, meeting deadlines, the H-1B lottery, Premium Processing, and many more.
1. Understand the changes that have been implemented for international travelers due to U.S. travel bans and the exceptions that are available
2. Review changes to immigration application filing protocols before USCIS and EOIR on account of the COVID-19 pandemic
3. Discuss strategies to mitigate long term impacts on foreign nationals of travel, USCIS, and EOIR changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic
